HIKING

Walking on Paxos is a joy, shady, walled paths the width of a donkey, wind sinuously backwards and forwards, there are organized guided walks, or beautifully illustrated maps for the adventurous, plenty of places along the way to stop for a picnic, take in a view, swim or simply stop for a much-needed cold drink, out of season there are carpets of tiny flowers spread out in front of you a simple, scented delight.

Perfect spots for viewing the sunset are the dramatic balcony of Kastanida Cliffs in the southwest of Lakka, and the fabulous Lakka Lighthouse, the spectacular vista from the bell tower of Ipapandi, or the amazing view of the entire island from the Church of Saint Isaurian
