A rare historic stone house above Erimitis Bay, offering privacy, authenticity, and one of Paxos’ most dramatic coastal settings.
Originally built in the early 1800s as a fisherman’s house, Villa Patroclus is a beautifully restored traditional stone property set above Erimitis Bay, one of the most striking and unspoilt coastal landscapes on Paxos. The villa retains a strong sense of its past, including one of the earliest water cisterns in the area, carved deep into the rock and still visible today.
The house has been rebuilt with great respect for its history and proportions. Modern comforts have been discreetly integrated and carefully concealed, allowing the villa to retain its authentic character while offering a comfortable and effortless stay. The atmosphere is calm and grounding, encouraging guests to slow down and connect with the island’s natural rhythm.
An ancient donkey path leads from the property through forest and olive groves down to Erimitis Beach, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. From the villa, views extend across uninterrupted olive groves and pine forest toward dramatic limestone cliffs and the deep blue Ionian Sea below, creating a constant sense of space and seclusion.
The gardens are an essential part of the experience. Native Mediterranean plants and aromatic herbs — rosemary, thyme, sage, lavender, mint, and monk’s pepper — fill the air with natural fragrance. The amphitheatre-shaped front garden is planted with lemon, lime, orange, almond, pomegranate, and fig trees, providing shade, texture, and seasonal colour throughout the year.
Despite its peaceful setting, the villa is well positioned for exploring the island. A welcoming restaurant and bar are just a few minutes away, while the village of Magazia, with its café, bakery, supermarket, and taverna, lies at the end of the road. Loggos, Lakka, and Gaios are all within a short drive.
Villa Patroclus is a rare and soulful retreat — ideal for guests seeking authenticity, privacy, and a deep connection to Paxos’ landscape and history.
